As a percussion educator I strive to create an inclusive and constructive learning environment.  Learning is not simply about hearing and regurgitating information.  The purpose is to absorb what you have learned and apply it to everything you do.  I take time to get to know each student and how best they learn so we can move at a pace that both fosters growth and challenges each student, no matter their level.  Everyone is drawn to music for their own reason; my job as an educator is to help find that reason and support it.  I work hard to make students comfortable enough to express themselves while still focusing on technique, musicianship, and listening.  By drawing from different styles of music, classical, contemporary, pop, world, and so on, I can incorporate the various modalities of learning through singing, movement, and listening.  The world has a place for all types of passionate players.  I am here to help you find that passion.
